Although there are records of predecessor organisations, Queensbury A.R.L.F.C as presently established more accurately has its roots from 1937. (Andy Thornton’s birth year). Meetings were held in the Stag’s Head, and an under 18’s team (Andy played in it) existed in the Village and were known as the ‘All Blacks’. This was due to their jerseys being dyed black. The Club played in the Keighley - Halifax League
In 1947 the new Bradford League claimed Queensbury as being in the Bradford area. By 1972 the Club was playing on Granby Fields until its departure in 1998/99.
The Club currently runs 2 open age and 10 junior teams from its base at Queensbury Conservative Club. We are also a Clubmark Accredited Club and thanks must be given to all those people who worked towards achieving this award. |
